Kindly note that the times stated above are general operating times and do not apply if there are any shows / activations in the theatres or the Forecourt. These times will be adjusted to accommodate all shows or activations. With regards to the operating times on Mon, Sat & Sun, should there be any shows in the theatres or forecourt, STAGES ST – will open 3 hours prior to the start of the show / activation, and close an hour after the show performance comes out.

The theatre was launched on Africa Day, 25 May 2012

No, the theatre accommodates conferences, music concerts and year-end functions as well as plays.

Q: What are the theatre’s operating times?

The administration office operates between 08:00 – 17:00 ( Monday – Friday)
Show Days/Nights: Doors usually open at 19:00 and close at 23:00. On Sundays, doors open 14:00 and close at 17:00.

Q: What are the public transport options leading to the theatre and how long do they run until?

You can catch a minibus taxi from Joburg CBD at the Bree taxi rank. Within Soweto, Bara and Dobsonville taxi rank are your best options.
There is a Rea Vaya drop off point on Koma Rd 200 metres from the theatre.
Inhlanzane Train Station is situated along the Naledi line and is also 200 metres away from the theatre.
